Re-initialize Power Window Controls - Toyota Prius 2010

Driver's side power window control panel

I recently had to replace the 12v battery in my 2010 Toyota Prius. Afterward I found that I could no longer control the passenger windows from the driver's side power window control panel. I found some instructions on line but they weren't very clear. I'd like to share what worked in my case.

After replacing the 12v battery I could use the driver's side power window control panel to roll down my window but the other 3 buttons just blinked, and would not roll down or up. If I used the power window button on the door where the window was located, it would work.

There is a process you need to go through, with each window until you can control them all. One by one, roll down the window, and then roll it all the way up, holding the button up for a couple of extra seconds until the light on the button stops blinking, and stays on.

I did this from the driver's seat by just reaching over and rolling every window down, and then up (with the extra few seconds wait with the button in the up position). Once I went through this process for each window the buttons on the driver's side power window control panel stopped blinking.

Also, if you notice that the windows do not go far up enough, or if they go up but come down a little, you may want to try going through the process of rolling the window all the way down, then all the way up, holding the button up for about 10-12 seconds, and repeating two more times, which some way will reset the window.
